I Miss You, Marius

Chybíš mi, Tvůj Marius

Special ScreeningFilm
An optimistic film about the legacy of a dead giraffe reveals modern man's relationship with nature, and how we pass this bond on to the next generation. Is there any place left for innocence when it is exposed to the world of science?
The film's protagonist, Abdi Hedayat, routinely performs public autopsies on animals. The frightened, excited, nervous, and smiling faces of children watch as Abdi cuts, skins, and eviscerates. The animals are transformed from stuffed animals into scientific artifacts of flesh and blood before the children's eyes. The film is based on an incident involving the death of Marius the giraffe at Copenhagen Zoo, which resonated in the media around the world.
