Shadow Moon, the protagonist of the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s novel American Gods, returns home after years in prison. The night before his release, his wife, Laura, dies and Moon is caught up in a tangle of godly events. Shadow becomes by coincidence (or maybe it’s fate) the personal bodyguard and companion of the charismatic weirdo, Mr. Wednesday. Mr. Wednesday is an impostor as he is one of the old gods. Thus begins an unimaginable trip across the USA, with the goal of gathering as many allies as possible to prepare for the war against the new gods. These are what people today worship: love for money, modern technology, media, fame, and drugs.
