Fake news, half-truths, lies, skewed information, and selectivity of history are just some of the practices employed by contemporary propaganda, as an increasing complex phenomenon in the age of technology. How do we recognize and resist these frequently used, public manipulative methods? Kamil Kopecký and René Szotkowski are university educators specialized in the protection of personal information, cyberbullying, sexting, and other online risk behaviours. Their lecture focuses on specific examples of public disinformation, hoaxes, and fake news and reminds us to verify information accepted on a daily basis. The lecture will include the screening of the short educational film The Art of Disinformation.
