Please read carefully the following Camp 4Science 2021 virtual edition – Application Guidelines.
1. APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 7, 2021 (applying is free of charge)
1.1 Filled-out online application form has to be submitted by March 7, 2021. Applications submitted after March 7 will not be considered. Project selection assures participants with free accreditations to the virtual festival screenings and any related events.
2. THERE IS NO SUBMISSION AND NO PARTICIPATION FEE
2.1 Camp 4Science and all its program will be completely online this year.
3. WHAT PROJECTS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
3.1 Documentary projects in development, production or postproduction stage. We are open to creative feature-length films, TV 52’ or series as well as projects with online and game potential.
3.2 We welcome participants familiar with documentary film production and industry who are willing to learn more about the diverse ways to approach science.
3.3 At the same time, we welcome participants with the science communication experience who would like to enter the world of documentary filmmaking and learn about its rules and creative possibilities.
4. KEY DATES
March 7, 2021: Application deadline
March 22, 2021: Successful applicants will be informed
April 5, 2021: The final list of confirmed participants, observers and mentors will be published at the website (www.afo.cz)
April 27 – May 2, 2020: online Camp 4Science (during virtual festival AFO).
5. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
5.1 Proficiency in English
5.2 Requested materials submitted prior to the deadline
5.3 The team (director and producer) has to take an active part in all the workshop stages.
5.4 Prior to the workshop, the selected participants will be asked to provide the mentors with a more detailed budget and financial plan and might be asked to clarify some aspects of the project so the actual work at Camp 4Science would be more efficient. The presence of both director and producer at the workshop is required so both the creative as well as production and financial aspects of the projects can be covered and discussed.
5.5 Exceptions to the above-mentioned conditions can be decided only prior to the selection process. Please contact Tereza and Dominika with such requests on camp@afo.cz.
6. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
6.1 Please note that the following materials will be required to complete the application:
- Logline
- Short synopses (max. 250 characters) and long synopsis (max. 4000 characters)
- Treatment (max. 8000 characters)
- Director´s Statement (max. 4000 characters)
- Trailer, sample video
- Simple budget (the selected participants will be asked to provide a more detailed budget prior to the workshop)
- Director´s and producer´s photo
- Stills or other visual material (animation or graphic elements) related to the project

By submitting a project, you accept our data protection policy in accordance with the GDPR.
8. CONCLUSION
By submitting a project the applicant agrees with all the above-mentioned regulations.
