Their names may be forgotten, but their souls remain. Restored old photographs depict life in German-speaking villages in the Jeseník region at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
A local narrator and friend of the author of the photographs guide you through an array of nostalgic images of ordinary life. The narration provides modest and humorous commentary on the memories of an old friend and the places illustrated in the photographs. The picturesque images made with a “stereo camera” are the work of artist Rudy Klein, created with a technique using two lenses as far apart as the human eyes. Thanks to Rudy’s work, mundane yet unparalleled moments from the distant past can speak to us with life-like urgency.
