Notes from Eremocene

Eremocene is an age characterized by the feeling of loneliness resulting from the extinction of numerous species. The film perceives this time from the perspective of a virtual future, walking the line between a philosophical essay and sci-fi.

Humans no longer rule the world. Instead, it is run by a powerful artificial intelligence. At this point in time, the inhuman entity finds its roots with the author of the film along with a message—analogue recordings documenting her life in a failing organic world. The fictitious dialogue between the director and her future self provides a unique perspective on the topics of climate change, mental health, and the crisis of democracy, which she links with the potential use of AI and blockchain networks.
