Julie Dítětová: Machine Learning: Programming Patterns: Opening

Opening of the installation. It's point of departure is the experimental project utilizing the neural network StyleGAN 2 to generate visual data the morphology of which derives from existing church textile motifs from the 18th century.

These textiles come from a newly formed archive where the principle of pattern generating is based on the author-curated dataset from original motifs on the textiles. What follows is a machine process in which the neural network defines the visual elements, which by means of successive iteration create credible imitations of the original patterns.
