Tomáš Šebek

Czech surgeon and participant in missions with Doctors Without Borders.

Tomáš Šebek (*1977) is a general surgeon who has participated in six missions with Doctors Without Borders since 2010, including in Haiti, Afghanistan, and Yemen. He is the author of several books in which he describes his experiences from these missions. His participation in the OLIVIE discussion panel brings insight into healthcare in crisis areas and the importance of prevention. He is an entrepreneur in the health-tech sector, focusing particularly on digitally managed prevention (uLékaře.cz), and the founder of the think tank “Ministr zdraví” (“Minister of Health”) with the goal of “increasing the number of years lived in good health in the Czech Republic by 5 years.”
