The off-festival screenings are coming back in full swing after the summer. Come and get nostalgic for the AFO atmosphere and excited for the upcoming 58th festival with us.

Our traditional cooperation with the university MEET UP event starts on 20 September with the festival echoes and AFO Cinema screenings, which give you an opportunity to watch popular science films throughout the year even outside the festival week. MEET UP will present a selection of short films and this year’s favourite from the international competition: Baboons – A Really Wild Family. On 30 September, the series of short films will head off from Olomouc to Zlín as a part of the Researchers’ Night event, in which we are happy to participate every year. However, the Researchers’ Night in Olomouc will not be robbed of the AFO selection, and it will present the Sedentary and Eternity at Last films.

Before the end of the year, you can visit the AFO Cinema in Metropol on three occasions, on 26 September, 7 November and 19 December. The screenings will feature new releases, which will be revealed soon. Between 10 and 13 October, we will also be glad to welcome you to Prague on the campus of the Czech University of Life Sciences at our partner festival Prague Science Film Fest.

On top of that, you can enjoy science documentaries even from the comfort of your couch! Two films from this year’s international competition are still available on DAFilms. You can also look forward to September when we will relaunch the Watch & Know platform, where you can find selected popular science documentaries from the previous years, AFO Talks and other additional content for free throughout the entire year.
