Elin Rhys​

A graduate biochemist, Elin was a scientist in industry before a 10 year career as a freelance presenting and writing science programmes for S4C, BBC Radio Cymru, HTV Wales, Channel 4 and BBC Schools before moving to general programming. She founded Telesgop on May the 4th 1993 in West Wales, which continues to employ around 30 full time staff. In her role as MD she had overseen hundreds of hours of productions; Music docs like Meat Loaf: In and Out of Hell, John Denver: Country Boy, Music for Misfits: The Story of Indie for BBC FOUR; Edward VIII’s Murderous Mistress and Wallis Simpson: The Secret Letters for Channel 4; Parasites: Eating Us Alive for Discovery US and The Prince and the Bomber for BBC Wales/S4C. She has considerable experience as executive producer of live events and Telesgop is responsible for S4C’s flagship farming current affairs series Ffermio. She became the company Chair in 2019 and returned to production. Telesgop has a successful radio arm producing 700 hours of radio per year and Elin produces and presents a science strand for BBC Radio Cymru. Elin directed S4C’s flagship Climate Change Series – Her yr Hinsawdd. The Peace Particle is her passion project having known about it ever since she was a child and is proud that the designer of the Large Hadron Collider is originally from her home nation, Wales.
