Broadcaster and natural history presenter
Richard started his broadcasting career as a presenter with commercial radio station Swansea Sound in 1974. In 1976 he joined BBC Wales as a radio presenter and producer. During 18 years with the BBC he continued working as a radio producer / presenter both in Wales and for Radio 4, but also worked as a TV announcer and TV presenter and finally as a series producer and director in the factual programmes unit. His main area is Natural History. In 1994 he left the BBC and joined Telesgop, an independent company formed by his wife Elin. He has produced films for BBC, Discovery U.S., Discovery UK, Animal Planet, ITV and S4C. He still presents a weekly music based show for BBC Radio Cymru. He is a member of Brecon Mountain Rescue Team.
