Resilience

Does the world feel upside down lately? With Resilience, you won’t be alone to face it. This section will again focus on how to deal with current crises – both individually and collectively. What makes society resilient? And how to find common ground in a situation where the divide seems too wide to cross?

Housing crisis, energy crisis, wars, polarised society, biodiversity decline and the climate issues to top it all off. The Resilience section follows the individual issues of the intertwined polycrisis labyrinth and asks questions that may lead the way to new lines of thinking and bring a sliver of hope based on action, constructive discussion and humour. From individual to collective thinking, from suppositions and established norms to questions and renewed wonder about the world we are part of. This section will explore what social and individual resilience means and introduce projects and important figures who advocate for positive change in the Czech Republic and abroad. In the context of this year’s theme, we will also focus on reaching common ground, building bridges and burying the hatchet to reach a truce between (seemingly) hostile tribes. Is Czech society actually divided? And where and how can we find pathways and strategies for mutual understanding?
