Šimon Kozák

Anesthesiologist and algesiologist, head physician at the Center for Pain Research and Treatment at the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and Motol University Hospital

He gained his extensive clinical experience primarily during his many years working in Nottingham, UK (Queens Medical Centre NHS) and subsequently at Královské Vinohrady University Hospital, where he contributed to the development of interventional algesiology and neuromodulation programs. He is a pioneer in the field of neurostimulation, which he confirmed in 2021 with the implementation of a unique motor restitution project in a patient with spinal cord injury. In addition to his clinical and scientific activities, he is intensively involved in teaching medical students at the Third Faculty of Medicine of Charles University, heads the interventional algesiology section of the SSLB ČLS JEP professional society, and runs the information portal www.algeziolog.cz, thereby contributing significantly to the modernization and education in the field of pain treatment in the Czech Republic.
