In her work she explores human relationships with a disappearing environment. Her feature debut, Sea Tomorrow (Locarno, Netflix), chronicled the Aral Sea disaster. Her latest film, Qoryqpa (Hot Docs, Alter Award), continues her focus on societal themes. She is a graduate of Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School and the founder of the Quiet Light studio.
