Part of the festival programme is made accessible to visitors with hearing or visual impairments. Individual accessibility features are indicated by the relevant description directly in the festival programme.

Subtitles for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Visitors

Selected film screenings feature Czech subtitles for deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers.

Live Czech Sign Language Interpretation

Introductions to selected films and selected discussions are simultaneously interpreted into Czech Sign Language.

Audio Description for Blind and Visually Impaired Visitors

Selected films feature audio description, which verbally describes the visual elements of the film and provides information that cannot be conveyed through sound alone.

During screenings, the audio description is played directly through the speakers in the cinema.

For us, accessibility also means creating conditions that allow people with different needs and in different life situations to take part in the festival. Individual features are indicated by the relevant description directly in the festival programme.

Baby-friendly Screenings

Selected screenings are adapted for parents with children. They take place with the lights on, allowing visitors to move around during the screening, attend to their children, or leave the screening room at any time.

Chill-out Zones

If you need a break from the bustle of the festival, you can use our chill-out zones in the Konvikt courtyard or on the Konvikt Parkán.

Harm reduction

A harm reduction tent will be available during evening concerts, offering information, support and basic services focused on making the evening safer for everyone.

For All Generations

AFO also takes senior visitors into consideration. Part of the programme is developed in cooperation with organisations and associations working with seniors and people with disabilities and other forms of disadvantage.

AFO strives to create a programme that is open to different generations and different ways of participating in the festival.

An assistance helpline will be available throughout the festival. You can contact it with questions about the accessibility of festival venues, orientation within the festival, or attending a particular programme item.

The helpline will be available during regular working hours throughout the festival.

Assistance and guide dogs are welcome at AFO.

Festival accreditation is free of charge.

Visitors who require assistance may attend the festival with a companion. Companions also receive free admission to the festival.
