Pernille Rose Grønkjær

Pernille Rose Grønkjær (1973) is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, an award-winning director and executive producer who founded the Danish Documentary Production Company, run by women, in 2007.

Pernille graduated from the Danish National Film School in 1997. Her feature-length documentary The Monastery: Mr. Vig and the Nun (2006) won the Joris Ivens Award at the IDFA, The Cinema Eye Award and 11 other awards around the world. The film was nominated for Best Picture at The Spirit Awards, Sundance Film Festival and European Film Awards. Among other things, she directed the film Love Addict (2011), the award-winning film Genetic Me (2014) and made the magnificent national premiere of Comedic Art (2017) (Danish title Den Anden Side) in Denmark with the most famous Danish comedian Anders Matthesen. At the beginning of 2019, the stunning mind “Hunting for Hedonia” premiered, which was selected as the inaugural film of the CPH science program: DOX 2019, and where Pernille collaborated with Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton on a voiceover for the film. The film SOLUTIONS premiered again in 2021 on CPH: DOX as the opening film of the CPH: DOX Science program, and now the film is on a festival tour.
