AFO Junior

AFO Junior will once again be a place where children and their entire families can experience the festival together. As always, the programme aims at younger audiences and is newly expanding to include screenings and activities for older children and teenagers.

AFO Junior is designed for children and young audiences while offering a diverse programme that brings together families across generations. This year’s overarching theme of common ground is also core to AFO Junior. Together, we will focus on communication across generations and its various forms. Where does communication reach its limits? Where do misunderstandings and pressures come from? Why is it important to talk about online safety? AFO Junior offers a safe and inspiring space that shows both children and adults that understanding does not come by itself and that we may have to explore different ways to reach common ground. We will also demonstrate that understanding the world is not a one-way process – it unfolds through relationships and across different forms, from films and books to digital media and direct conversation.
