Veronika Slámová

Film Producer and Director of the State Audiovisual Fund

Veronika Slámová graduated from FAMU in 2001. In the 1990s and 2000s, she worked in the production of international projects filmed in Prague (A Knight’s Tale, Joan of Arc, Hart’s War, and others). She considers her meeting with Terry Gilliam on the set of The Brothers Grimm to be a highlight of that period. In 2013, she joined Czech Television as an executive producer, where she produced documentaries and later also live broadcasts of concerts and performing arts. From 2017 to 2023, she served as production manager, leading Czech Television’s drama production center. In 2023, she became a creative producer of fiction and documentary programs focusing on social issues (Tělo v mé hlavě, Onlyfans, Potížistky, Ta druhá, Kronika šťastného dětství). She was nominated for a Czech Lion for the film Cesta do tmy. In 2025, she applied for the position of director of the State Audiovisual Fund and was elected in September 2025. Since November 2025, she has held this position at the newly restructured State Audiovisual Fund, which provides incentives for the film industry and selective support for audiovisual projects in the categories of cinema, television, animation, and infrastructure; support for video gaming is currently in the works.
