Mikolas Arsenev was born in Prague, where he currently lives and studies.
He completed his studies at the Department of Film Studies at the Charles University and continued his studies at the Department of Documentary Filmmaking at FAMU in Prague. Day after day our forests disappear and turn into vast clearings where man loses his bearings, trips over uprooted stumps and falls into ditches rutted by the wheels of heavy machinery. This miserable sight gave him the impetus to explore the subject, which he explores in the film Czechia Deforested (2020). This student documentary offers the perspectives of loggers, foresters and locals while asking questions about how to reforest the destroyed ecosystem.
