Pavel Borecký

Documentary filmmaker, social anthropologist and development specialist.

Pavel Borecký is active at the intersection of arts, sciences and sustainability. Pavel’s latest films Solaris (2015) and In the Devil’s Garden (2018) focused on the consumption culture in Estonia and the question of decolonisation in the Western Sahara. In 2020, he finished the first feature documentary on the unfolding water crisis in Jordan. Living Water traveled to Ji.hlava, Visions du Réel, CPH:DOX, Movies that Matter, DokuFest and Seminci, among others. His Bedouin friends in the south of Jordan call him “Sager” (falcon).
