Jaroslav Flegr

He is a university teacher and biologist. He graduated from the Faculty of Science of Charles University in Prague.

In 1999 he was appointed Associate Professor of Parasitology and in 2008 Professor of Ecology. His research focuses on biological evolution, particularly in the areas of ethology, parasitology and evolutionary psychology. He is a leading expert in these fields and is known for more than one hundred and seventy scientific papers, monographs and works of a popular scientific nature. He has been systematically researching toxoplasmosis and its effect on host behaviour for a long time. In the documentary Brain Manual (2022), the camera portrays him as a perceptive and thoughtful person who approaches evolutionary questions with humility.
